The Group was originally formed in 1977 as the Nelson Independent Art Group Inc. and the name was changed in June 2005 to ART GROUP NELSON INC.
The fostering and encouragement of artists from raw beginners to experienced professionals has been the main aim of the Group. There is no selection process for joining the Group and all members are able to display their work in Group exhibitions.
